A small UK company, building for people who can't get to the phone

While You Work is run by Vitesse Digital Ltd, a software company in Dorset, on the south coast of England. Neil McDonald founded it. We built While You Work for owner-run businesses in the UK first, and it answers calls for paying UK customers today.

Why we are coming to the US

The problem is the same on both sides of the Atlantic. A plumber under a sink or a roofer on a ladder can't answer the phone, and the caller tries the next company. Plenty of US companies sell call answering, but most human services cost hundreds of dollars a month, and we think a one-person business should be able to afford a receptionist.

What being a UK company means for you

  • We have no US customers yet. The first 50 get Pro at a founding price for their first 12 months because they are taking a chance on us.
  • We have no US office. Support is by email, and we reply within one working day. England is five to eight hours ahead of the mainland US, so a late-evening email from you is often answered by the time you start work.
  • Your account data is held on our servers in London. Calls are answered on US local numbers.
  • Your US terms and privacy policy are being reviewed by a US attorney before we take any US sign-ups.
  • You pay in US dollars through a leading payments provider.
