How it works

From a missed call to a callback in about a minute

You keep your number. Calls you don't pick up are forwarded to us, answered in your business name, and the details are on your phone before you've finished the job you're on.

Set up

Four steps, no new number for your customers

  1. Tell us about your business

A short setup form: your business name, hours, the area you cover by city or zip code, the work you take on, your rates if you want callers told, and whether you take emergency calls after hours.

  2. Get your local number

We give you a US number with a local area code. You never have to publish it. It is only where your calls get forwarded.

  3. Turn on call forwarding

Dial a short code on your cell. Most people set it to forward only the calls they don't answer. Codes for each carrier.

  4. Get the details

Within a minute of the call ending you get an email with the caller's name, number, address, what they need and how urgent it is, plus a phone notification.

An example call

A burst pipe on a Sunday night

Receptionist: Hi, you've reached Mike's Plumbing. I'm Ellie, their AI assistant. This call is recorded so they get your details right. How can I help?

Caller: Hi, there's water coming through my kitchen ceiling.

Receptionist: I'm sorry, that sounds stressful. I'll mark this as urgent so Mike gets it straight away. What's your name?

Caller: Dana Ruiz.

Receptionist: Thanks, Dana. What's the address, including the zip code?

Caller: 412 Alder Street, 97214.

Receptionist: And the best number for Mike to call you back on?

What happens next

  • Mike gets an email with the caller's details and an URGENT flag, and a notification on his phone.
  • If Mike has switched on call transfer, the assistant can put an urgent caller through to his cell.
  • The call recording and transcript are in his dashboard.
  • When he gets the job, he taps Won it and puts in the dollar amount.

What it won't do

  • Pretend to be you. It says it is an AI assistant on every call.
  • Make up a price. It only gives rates you have told it to give.
  • Take card details over the phone.
  • Text you or your callers yet. US text messages are waiting on carrier registration.

Recording

Recording and AI disclosure

Federal law allows a call to be recorded with one person's consent, but several states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Washington, require everyone on the call to agree. Your callers could be calling from any state, so the assistant tells every caller that it is an AI assistant and that the call is recorded. Callers who stay on the line after that have been told clearly.

Recordings are kept for 30 days so you can listen back, then deleted. Transcripts are kept for 12 months.
